The twin belt design of the SafetyMaster Twin 450 is a far more effective barrier for restricting access than a single belt barrier. Single belt stanchions provide a visual guide to pedestrians whereas a twin belt stanchion forms an actual barrier. This twin belted safety belt barrier model is recommended for higher security areas where the need to stop people ducking under the belt is particularly important. The SafetyMaster Twin 450 meets ADA section 4.4.1 regarding “protruding objects” as the lower belt is less than 27” from the ground which allows it to be detected by the visually impaired using a cane.
A distinctive feature of the SafetyMaster Twin is its two piece post. With the simple removal of four screws the post can be separated in the center giving access to the lower belt cassette. This enables users to replace the lower belt in the field without having to return the stanchion to the manufacturer.
SafetyMaster has the key safety features of a brake system for slow, safe belt retraction and a lock to prevent accidental belt release. Visibility is paramount for a twin belted safety belt barrier to delineate restricted areas effectively. SafetyMaster 450 is available in three vivid color options, yellow, red and orange. OSHA defines the use of these colors as yellow for caution, red for danger and orange as warning of equipment in use.

The base on this twin belted safety belt barrier is galvanized for long term outdoor use and it is supplied with an tough ABS base cover that is replaceable. For indoor use the SafetyMaster also features a rubber floor protector. This is a heavy duty rubber ring stretched around the circumference of the base and will last the life of the stanchion. The full circumference design provides the best floor protection of any stanchion on the market. No matter what direction the stanchion is rolled or dragged the full circumference design gives protection to flooring.
